Who doesn't love chocolate? Actually, someone told me on my Instagram poll that she doesn't... But most of you do, so we're saved!
I've discovered this way of doing chocolate mousse when I was diagnosed with an egg intolerance (on top of my leaky gut and SIBO). I was eating eggs daily at that time and I have to confess that since I started to really take care of what I was eating, my health has improved tremendously. We're all different and that's really important to find out what your body is able to process and which foods are the best for you.
We are what we eat as they say... Well, I'm a living proof!
Changing my diet has been a game changer for me. It came with lifestyle changes too and suddenly I had the control to take my health to another level. I had the opportunity to heal my body and to start understanding why my former way of life has been detrimental to my health and led me to burnout.
And yeah, vegan chocolat mousse was with me on my journey lol!
Honestly, I don't eat that every day, nor every week. I don't like to consider it as a treat either because food is just more than that. But it's a pleasure to prepare it when I'm super hungry and when I have some ripe avocados that need to be eated before turning bad (when I'm not craving guacamole).
Avocado is a super healthy fat that comes with fibers too which is amazing.
In my house, we're Team Avocado for sure. We're always stocked up and I'm glad because my daughter whom is a picky eater loves to eat avocado straight away with her spoon.
Don’t worry, the avocado, once blended, disappears into the background. You won’t even know it’s there! But your avocados need to be ripe. If they're too green, the taste will be not so good...
This recipe is super quick to prepare and you can eat it directly without waiting but be sure to have your avocados from the fridge otherwise it could be a little warm.
- 2 ripe avocados
- ¼ cup of raw cacao powder (20 g)
- 3 tbsp of coconult milk (or any other nut milk)
- 2 to 3 tbsp of maple syrup (you can substitute pitted soaked dates)
- 1 tsp of vanilla extract
- 1 pinch of salt
- optional : ½ tsp of carob powder
And voila! Bon appétit!
